Applications Engineer:

Assist the sales team in providing technical support and design assistance to customers in meeting their specific needs in the use of Link Labs hardware, software and cloud services.
Responsibilities:

• Advise customers on system architecture, design trade-offs, and recommend product configurations
• Work with customers to detail product use case requirements
• Support Project Managers in the creation of Statements of Work delivering a variety of design services to customers including hardware design, embedded firmware, network planning, cloud services and manufacturing/test plans
• Provide product demonstrations, technical training and on-site deployment services for customers
• Demonstrate all functions related to software development, including review specifications, design, coding, debug, test, and documentation
• Experience in creating test environments to isolate potential software/firmware issues

QUALIFICATIONS:

• B.S. Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
• 3+ years of embedded systems experience
• Experience in Embedded Linux development
• Experience in developing real-time embedded applications
• Experience with open source development tools in Windows/Linux environments – GNU, OpenEmbedded
• Experience in scripting languages like Ruby, Perl, Python
• Web programming skills with PHP or HTML
• Knowledge of device drivers, kernel modules, boot loaders
• Strong knowledge of networking protocols
• Wireless and RF experience a plus
• Good knowledge of software design methodologies, communicating and documenting requirements, performing high level and low level designs and design reviews
• Strong customer service experience with resolving customer related issues
• Strong effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Possess strong presentation skills
• Strong self-starter and self-learner that is capable of working with limited supervision
• Service and results oriented with a strong desire to support customers and work as an extension of the sales team to support and close sales
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and track many activities
• Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
