Learn more about Sigfox and their technology.
Sigfox is company that sells Internet of Things network technology to mobile operators, but also owns and operates a network that uses their technology in countries like the US. Here is a Fortune article about Sigfox that covers their US based plans, but to date, very little has been seen of Sigfox in the actual US market. Update: This Lightreading article says that they are now in 100+ cities.
While many analysts that we speak with believe Sigfox will have trouble generating sufficient revenue with the pressures created by LTE-M1 and NB-IOT, they are certainly to be credited with creating the Low Power, Wide Area Networks market. Many companies, Link Labs included, have capitalized on the rapid growth in the market for using alternative ways to connect Internet of Things devices.
